or at least worth six weeks of absence
we promise we will see you in april!
Marie’s theme: crazy
“We went by the old apartment one last time and I took some pictures of the girls. I actually was telling Addy to smile for the camera but this is her new look. Yes, I do think it sums up crazy quite well. However in other crazy news, we moved into a new apartment, unpacked and repacked in less than two weeks. In only hours we are headed to the U.S. of A. See you in California tomorrow!”
{taken on Tuesday, February 12th around 11:15am EET}
Sarah’s theme: Shiloh
“This is obviously Shiloh. Crazy. Chasing something. Whining. Shiloh. We heart her though!”
{taken today….because it’s been a crazy week}
New Themes: TBA
Soooo…we possibly turned into pumpkins last night.
We obviously didn’t post before midnight!
Sarah’s theme: sky
“This is my Northern California sky. I miss it a whole lot sometimes…”
{taken on Saturday, February 2nd around 10:00pm PST}
Marie’s theme: husband
“Pumpkin? Well here is the honest truth – - in the blur of the move, I managed to pack+lose my memory card. Talent, I know. I couldn’t even find it to take a picture of the husband on his 32nd birthday. So here is the second best, the reflection of one sexy fella doing dishes. What could be more handsome than a man doing dishes after a long day?”
{taken on Wednesday, February 6th around 7:45pm EET}
Next Week’s Theme:
For Marie: crazy
For Sarah: Shiloh
Sarah’s theme: water
“In Southern CA we usually have phantom rain…you don’t realize it’s rained until you wake up in the morning and find the ground is wet. Well, the last few weeks we have had a down pour of rain…it’s been fabulous. Perfect for this weeks theme: I actually had my glasses on Saturday morning (near sighted here) and I saw with my very own eyes (shocking) that my party lights in the side yard were catching water and making them drip…obviously.”
{taken on Saturday, January 26th around 9:00am PST)
Marie’s theme: free
“Oh. my. goodness. It is crazy around here. In the midst of packing to move apartments BEFORE traveling to California for EIGHT weeks, this little munchkin of nineteen months decided to potty train. Seriously, is there anything more free than getting to run around the house like this? I really don’t think so!”
{taken on Tuesday, January 29th around 5:30pm EET}
Next Week’s Theme:
For Marie: husband
For Sarah: sky
Marie’s theme: hands
“Little hands held safely in big hands. Plus a seriously adorable daddy+daughter moment.”
{taken on Friday, January 18th around 2:30pm EET}
Sarah’s Theme: peaceful
“Early morning tea in the glow of my christmas lights = peaceful(ness).”
{taken on Monday, January 21st around 6:00am PST}
Oddly…I didn’t notice until now, that my theme for marie was hands, and I took a picture of my hand yesterday. Also, I knew Marie and I had similar features, but I don’t even recognize my own hand…I see her hands in that picture more than mine!
Next Week’s Theme:
For Marie: free
For Sarah: water
Theme: Happy. Happiness.
“It has been three days since Sarah left. I know I will see her in a month but it is still so hard to be the one left behind. So thankful I have these two little faces to make me smile even when I don’t feel like it. They are, in every way, happiness to me.”
{taken on Tuesday, January 15th around 6:30pm EET}
“It was definitely easier coming home to this goof and 4th, 5th, and 6th Christmases are always a plus in the happy department!”
{taken Sunday, January 13th around 3:00pm PST}
Next Week’s Theme:
For Marie: Hands
For Sarah: Peaceful
So we are going to stick around. Just a little less often and with a new twist.
See, this year will have Marie traveling a lot. And as for Sarah, well, she is just turning her life upside down and tying the knot.
Whew.
So here’s the deal – - this year we are going to embark on a fifty-two week project. Each week (Wednesday morning) we will give each other a topic/theme/word/inspiration/whatev and then each of us will have one week to capture that said goal using only our camera (no iPhones this time for a bit of a challenge). The picture has to be posted by midnight on Tuesday night each week.
And that is why we are calling it The Cinderella Project.
So there it is. Our goal is that this new project will be a little less work but still as much fun. And still a project for us to work together on. Who knows, maybe 2014 will be the year we do a daily picture again.
But for now? 2013. Fifty-two weeks. The Cinderella Project.
Thanks for coming along!
Week One: A New Year
“Yup, I am in the middle of the road. I really wanted a picture of these lights. These lights have cheered me up and reminded me that I can celebrate Christmas anywhere. And these lights also remind me that 2013 is going to be awesome. I don’t really know what 2013 is going to hold. I know we will be spending quite a bit of time in the USofA. I know we will be continuing to learn and speak Romanian. I know that our ministry opportunities will be growing and developing even more. But besides that? All I know is that 2013 is going to be fun. And exciting. And busy. And crazy. And cool.”
{taken on Tuesday, January 1st around 8:00pm EET}
“Annual family pictures!”

Week Two: Happiness. Or just Happy.
Starting with week three, we are going to give each other the next theme at the end of the current post. It should get creative and fun because Marie won’t know what Sarah’s theme for her is and Sarah won’t know what Marie’s theme for her is either.
Don’t worry if it doesn’t make sense.
:-)
Who knew a photo a day could make a year go by so quickly. We are happy to say – - it worked!
Here is our attempt at a little year end recap, enjoy!
Sarah, now 24 years old, living in Thousand Oaks, California and getting married in March:
Marie, now 31 years old, still living in Apartment #29, checking her mailbox at least three times a day and leaving for the states to plan Sarah’s wedding in roughly 35 days:
So where does that leave us? We have a little project planned. Once again, it is mainly for ourselves but we just might share it with you. We are calling it …
A Sea Apart – The Cinderella Project
Mull that one over a little and we will see you next week!
Happy, happy, happy 2013. With peace, joy and blessings!
Love,
Sarah and Marie
P.S. Thanks for riding along with us – - we enjoyed reading the comments more than you realize!

“One year ago, my family and I moved across an ocean to live in a new country. I think this year has held a lot of surprises. A lot of ups. A lot of downs. But over all I think it has been an amazing and I can’t wait to see what the next year holds. We have a lot of plans for 2013.
As Addy would say, {yeah baby!}”
{taken at 2:15pm EET}

“It’s been more than a relief to see how these little girls have changed so much and at the same time they are exactly the same.”
